Mimimum 1.5 litre of water required.
The full microbiological test analyses for the three microbes tested in the short test, and three further damaging microbes which may be found in water:
Clostridium Perfringens, Campylobacter and Pseudomonads.
Clostridium perfringens microbes may contaminate water, soil, animal feed and litter, or be transmitted directly from infected to healthy animals. The most practical way to deal with Clostridium related illnesses is to identify the microbes and prevent them in the first place.
Campylobacter microbes cause both abortion and enteritis in cattle and sheep. Calves are more seriously affected and may suffer from a thick mucoid diarrhoea. Clostridium can also cause tachycardia, rapid pulse rates, tachypnoea and weight loss. In adult cattle anorexia and various reproductive signs such as anoestrus, irregular oestrus patterns, hot udders, agalactia, abortion and infertility may be caused.
Pseudomonads microbes can cause toxic mastitis, abortion and genital infections in cattle.
